South Miami Plaza features a six-story residential building of one-bedroom units and perimeter fencing on 1.41 acres, along with associated parking. The project is a preservation and substantial rehabilitation project consisting of a 97-unit Miami-Dade County Public Housing apartment building. The redevelopment plan has provided a cash payment to the Miami-Dade Public Housing Agency, while preserving the existing public housing units, which serve low-income elderly residents. Funding came from the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
